چکیده
The antigenic characteristics of five species of Bacteroides were determined by agglutination tests. No cross-reactivity among the species was observed.

Genetic Transformation of Amylase Gene to Ruminal Bacteroides Species Using Conjugation Consequence for Improvement of Rumen Enzyme
Rumen bacterial strains can potentially be manipulated to perform functions different from wild type species. The most numerous species of bacteria in the rumen and gut are species of the familyBacteroidetes, whichcan have the potential for genetic modification for enzyme production. One of the genetic manipulation of rumen bacteria can perform for production of starch digestive enzyme for the ...
متن کاملAntigenic characteristics and serological identification of 10 black-pigmented Bacteroides species.
Strains of 10 black-pigmented Bacteroides species were serologically characterized using absorbed and unabsorbed rabbit antisera. An agglutination test using intact cells or heated cells (100 degrees C for 60 min) from each species and unabsorbed antisera revealed only homologous reactions with little or no reactivity in heterologous assays. Immunodiffusion tests using sonicated antigen demonst...

Background: Fasciolosis is a worldwide disease with major economic and public health consequences. Early detection of the infection is important for the prevention and control of the disease. ELISA allows for early detection of fasciolosis in man and animals. Fasciolosis is caused by Fasciola hepatica and F. gigantica in man and domestic animals respectively. These two species have many similar...
متن کامل‘Bacteroides cutis,’ a new bacterial species isolated from human skin
We report the main characteristics of 'Bacteroides cutis' sp. nov., strain Marseille-P4118T (= CSUR P4118), a new species within the genus Bacteroides. This strain was isolated from a skin sample of a 75-year-old man from Marseille.
متن کاملAutochthonous Intestinal Microflora
Based on agglutination, complement fixation, bactericidal, and opsonization tests, it is evident that suspensions of a Bacteroides sp. isolated from the mouse intestine and given by parenteral routes do not initiate antibody formation in mice. Rats also respond poorly to the antigenic stimulus. In contrast, suspensions of other bacterial species isolated from the rodent intestine are highly imm...
